These were salmon at Seattle's "Salmon Ladder," which gives the fish a way to bypass a dam or a lock that otherwise would prevent them from swimming upstream to spawn. The salmon ladder is enormous, and huge windows are in place underground so people can see hundreds of salmon swimming around. It was a really interesting thing to see.
