Lots o’ Snow
Our first big snowfall in Portland brought 12″ of snow, along with sledding kids, sliding cars (yikes!) on the hill near us, and the discovery that Portland is very much a pub crawl town.

Those Crazy Witches in Salem, Mass
On the one hand, there’s stunning architecture and harbor scenery, fascinating history and literary landmarks, and cozy little shops. On the other hand, there’s, well, the witches.

The week before we left Canada, there was a fun Irish festival near home, and we got this video of a few traditional Irish dancers in Byward Market. Clack clack clack. Such a happy, happy sound. Unless you’re the cynical sort.
Old Orchard Beach & Peaks Island
The water sure was cold on these day trips, but the bright sun, friendly folks, and great scenery more than made up for it.

September Graduation
Cooking’s a blast, but cooking finals aren’t. Passed again, but think the only thing we’ll be eating for a while is Advil.
We Got Ourselves Some Satisfaction
Stones came to town the other night, and we availed ourselves to a couple of tickets outside the stadium. Paid about what it costs to fill a Hummer these days, but lordy was it worth it.
