Merry Christmas
Our first Portland Christmas: unicyclers, crazy surfers, and Charlie’s new tongue.
Our first Portland Christmas: unicyclers, crazy surfers, and Charlie’s new tongue.
Our first big snowfall in Portland brought 12″ of snow, along with sledding kids, sliding cars (yikes!) on the hill near us, and the discovery that Portland is very much a pub crawl town.
What have the crazy folks at Betty Crocker done to the Box o’ Bisquick? Can anyone answer this? First we thought the whole “Shake ‘n Pour” nonsense in the yellow plastic jug was just “an Italy thing,” and then “a Canada thing”…until we reached Maine, and saw that the “old-fashioned” cereal-sized box of Bisquick mix had, in fact, gone the way of the dinosaur. Now, we “Just add water!” and “Shake!” Sort of gross. It’s not as if using the original box mix and adding eggs and milk was making pancakes (*gasp*!) from scratch. Has it become too complicated to add milk? Is it now too challenging to have to crack an egg? Here’s to “dried egg whites and milk products.” Mmmmm…
Does a tolerable version of “Little Drummer Boy” exist? If it’s out there, please let me know.
